Jefferson County is currently seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking individual to serve as our next County Superintendent of Highways.
This pivotal role entails leading and directing the planning, organization, and execution of all construction, maintenance, and repair activities for county roads and bridges.
The successful candidate will establish policies and procedures to ensure the effective utilization of personnel, equipment, and resources. This work is carried out under the administrative guidance of the County Administrator and in compliance with all relevant State regulations. The position requires the direct supervision of all departmental staff, including professional, technical, and support roles.
Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of the principles and methods involved in planning and directing extensive highway maintenance, construction, and repair programs, as well as a thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
Salary Range: $118,403 - $133,264 per year

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
- Six years of experience in road or highway maintenance, construction design, or development.
- A minimum of three years of supervisory experience within the field.
