Salary: $22.00 Hourly
Hours: Non-Exempt, full-time, thirty-five-hour (35.0) week; occasional evenings and weekends required for meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
Position Summary: The Harm Reduction Coordinator supports the Syringe Exchange Program by coordinating harm reduction services, outreach, and education for people who use drugs. This role focuses on building trusting relationships, distributing supplies such as sterile syringes and naloxone, providing overdose prevention education, and connecting participants to health and social services. The coordinator works closely with community partners and the prevention team to ensure a compassionate, client-centered approach that reduces risk and promotes overall well-being for participants and team members. Supervises assigned staff and interns within the SEP.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; or a minimum of 2 years of experience delivering stigma-free, non-judgmental and culturally responsive services to diverse populations; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal teams, external providers, and collaborative partners; Strong written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the full Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic office setting; Flexible team player with the ability to take on new assignments; Access to a reliable vehicle with insurance and a valid NYS driver’s license that complies with DMV screening requirements for travel purposes; Demonstrated understanding and commitment to implementing harm reduction as a philosophy and a programmatic requirement for service delivery and community education; Demonstrated commitment to cultural humility; sensitivity to HIV and chronic illness, LGBTQI+/TGNCNB, and BIPOC communities; and strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of ACR health are essential.
