In partnership with South Lewis School, LCHS is seeking a full time Athletic Trainer. For 10 months of the academic school year (approximately mid-August – mid June) the Athletic Trainer is responsible for athletic training including all aspects of preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating injuries sustained by students participating on athletic teams.
The work involves responsibility for assisting coaches in the development and presentation of first aide training and implementation, providing instruction to athletes on the prevention of injuries. For two months of the academic year (approximately mid-June – mid August) the Athletic Trainer, under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation and the Orthopedic Physician Assistant, will assist in outpatient clinical services and will address pediatrics, adolescent, adult and or geriatric patients in conjunction with sports medicine and injury evaluation.
MIN QUAL: Graduation from a regionally accredited New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in physical education, health, recreation, sports medicine or a related field. In order to be ELIGIBLE for the Board of Certification Exam for Athletic Training (to attain the “ATC” credential, as a “Certified Athletic Trainer”)
SPECIAL REQ: Possession of current and valid ATC credential from the Board of Certification and registration with the NY State Department of Education as an Athletic Trainer.
